My Journey into Videography and Building Bernardson.com

Today I’m starting my blog. I am a videographer based in Montréal and soon I will have a second location in Toronto as well.

How I started?

My journey into commercial videography started with video editing. I became enamoured with editing videos when I was creating my first promotional nightlife video. After a few months of streamlining my video editing procedures and seeing the remarkable results first hand (views, likes and shares) I decided it was time to create my first brand/business – a video production company

I had to constantly learn new methods of building, connecting and modifying.

Using my background in accounting, public relations, communications and entrepreneurship, I started working on a personal brand that would evolve into what is now known as Bernardson.com. I bootstrapped (use personally financed) and started purchasing various types of equipment from a Canon camera to lighting equipment to differentiate and define my style as videographer/photographer.

Through the years, during my evolution as an entrepreneur I had to constantly learn new methods of building, connecting and modifying. Realizing that “change” was a constant factor and the growth of my business was probably one of the greatest challenges. I had to evaluate my weaknesses and my strengths in my personal life and on my business journey. Through the development of my video production and photography, I fostered the ability to mature and advance as a person as well as an entrepreneur.
